Ushering in a New Academic Year...

Dear Students,

Welcome to the dawn of yet another vibrant academic year 2011. Well, the opening of a new academic year is always an exciting time, when freshers from far and wide become a part of the grand old Madras Christian College, and partake in its rich multicultural heritage. It is also a time for new hopes, new goals and new challenges.

As we start this academic year, we face a great deal of promise on the academic front.  This year also heralds the inauguration of a new international journal for the department of English titled ‘Eclectic Representations’. A students’ journal is also on the cards. For copies of the Journal, you may either contact Dr.Felix Moses, Head, Dept of English, or this blogger (Rufus).

I trust that all of you, like all of us in the faculty here, are ready for the fresh challenges and opportunities that this year will bring. And, to requote the words of Sue Coleman, noted educationist, We will, as a Department, debate and exchange ideas, we will advance our initiatives and discover new ones, and we will continue the work that makes the Department of English, Madras Christian College, one of the world's leading institutions of repute.

Our best wishes for a fulfilling and productive academic year ahead.

Regards,

Rufus
