II BA English Litt., Oratory - Results...:

Dear Students of II BA English,
First my congratulations to all of you who took part in the Oratory, which was more appropriate, relevant and better suited than the written test, by all means, justifying the title of the Paper in letter and in spirit. Going by any indication, the Oratory has been a revelation of sorts. This ennobling exercise seems to have driven home at least one point, (among a lot of other valuable points) that the written and the spoken have a lot of contrasts, or should I say, dissimilarities, and those who've performed average or above average in the written exams, have by far outsmarted your comrades in the Spoken. My kudos to you! My special word of appreciation goes to everyone of you who made the Oratory a great success.
I should admit, I really had a tough time deciding on the marks.
"Do the due diligence!" was the adage that crossed my mind when I put red pen to paper. While considerable attention was given to Body Language, Eye contact, shooting questions at the audience, interactions with the audience, knowledge of the subject matter, well-preparedness, giving adequate examples, (factual and/or didactic), answering questions with poise, calm and effectiveness, keeping up the tempo and interest of the Speech, etc., Style and substance were also given sufficient focus. Keeping all these parameters in mind, here goes the end result:

1. Cleeta - 75
2. Gifty - 76
3. Irene - 64
4. Jayanthi - 68
5. Jennita - 54
6. Kalaiarasi - 48
7. Addlin - 75
8. Mercy - 68
9. Noeline - 78
10. Rinila - 60
11. Sherine - 74
12. Shipporah - 48
13. Smitha - 77
14. Stella - 62
15. Sujatha - 76
16. Allan - 78
17. Ashem - 60
18. Ashish - 73
19. Bestin - 75
20. Blaisen - 74
21. Dhanasekar - 68
22. Benjamin - 58
23. Satcin - 62
24. Shyam - 72
25. Thomas - 75
25. Vanlalropuia - 75
If you're marks are not up here, it means either you haven't submitted the synopsis or you haven't taken up the test at all.
Clarifications if any, can be made before Friday, 28 March.
Regards, Rufus
