Use of Punctuation: To ensure the clarity nad readability of writing.
The use of Commas, before a coordinating conjunction joining independent clauses.
Ellipsis: The practice of leaving word(s) when they are not needed for the understanding of a text.

Dashes make a sharper break in the continuity.
Parentheses make a still sharper break in the continuity of sentences.
Dashes and parentheses are used to enclose a sentence element that interrupts the train of thought.
Square brackets around a parenthesis/within a paranthesis for easily distinguishing the levels of subordination.
