Introduction:
'Exhibit' would mean to show or to expose. Exhibition exposes the varieties of books, of things, etc. Here i want to mention my experience on the books exhibition, to which recently I went along with my college mates. I too would like to share some of the ideas about my favourite book that I purchased in the book exhibition.
My Observation:
The book exhibition is being held at St.George's Anglo-Indian Hr Sec School grounds opposite to Pachaiyappa's College in the Poonthamalli Highway, Chennai - 30. When I entered the spot, I saw many
digital banners guiding the viewers about the particulars of each of the participating stalls. It is easy for the book readers to choose their favourite authors and books. There was a great crowd of people, and each one rushed into the book stalls to get their share of the books. The entrance fees is Rs.5/- for one adult. There were many school children and college studetnts too.
The stalls were arranged in a systematic way. We went stall by stall viewing the books. There were about 500 stalls. But we could not able to visit all the stalls due to lack of time. The book exhibition committee had also arranged seminars, debate programmes, in the evening time.
I came out of the exhibition with a sorrowful heart because i could not visit all the stalls. My favourite authors are S.Ramakrishnan, R.Gopinath, Mrs.Salma, Na Muthukumar, etc. I saw their writings and admired at it. I chose a book "How to be ever happy" written by Er.B.G.Ramesh.
Parallel Program:
We went to the exhibit around 11 am. At that time, there was no parallel programme going on. So we just visited the stalls and purchased the books and came out of the exhibition and I made a resolution that I won't miss any such exhibition throughout my life.
Reviews of my favourite book purchased:
"How to be ever happy" is my favourite book that i purchased in the stall written by Er.B.G.Ramesh. He had written many other books like "How to Improve your Body Language", "How to Control your Mind and be Happy,", "How to Improve your Personality,", How to Face Interviews', How to Win Friends and Influence People", How to Improve your Memory Power", How to Improve the Talents of Your Children", "How to become Rich", etc.
In all these books, from the title itself we come to know their worth to improve one's personality. It is quiet natural that everybody wants to be happy. In this book, the author gives various ways and means to be happy and at the same time, he never fails to mention the obstacles to be happy.
In the beginning of his writing, under the topic "In Quest of Happiness', he widely attain s a truth that fulfilment of desires would never obtain happiness to one. Happiness is not a commodity that can be purchased in the market by paying money. Of course, we need material comforts but they all can bring only temporary peace and happiness. They awake a greed of getting more and more such comforts in oneself. They bring restlessness and distributed mind but not real happiness. Happiness is not found in money alone as many think.
He says that happiness is a valuable treasure that has to be acquired. Happiness lies in mental attitudes. "Be practical. Be enthused. Have a harmonious relationship with others. Understand others. Have patience. The next moment you will feel that you are still happy“. Here, he gives other ways and means of happiness under the topics:
Time Management:
It may be easily said that one who wastes time is an unhappy person. Time is valuable. Time is money. If time is wasted, money is wasted. Time flows. Time waits for none. Life is short. We have to achieve maximum in this minimum available time. Yesterday is dead. Tomorrow is yet to be born. Today is ours. Let us not waste it. This saying tells us about the importance of time. …
He also mentions some of the factors which hinder happiness such as worries, enemies, fear, anger, greed, ego, inferiority complex, money, materialistic living, poverty, casteism, etc.
If one can eliminate these factors that hinder happiness, naturally he will be happy. Majority of the people say tension and anxiety are killing them. Of course, the modern world has taken up objective service as its basis of establishing the human rights under the false conclusions that every individual is but a merely physical structure. People go accordingly giving much importance to material comforts. Naturally they end up being unhappy.
The author concludes that happiness is not a material commodity that can be purchased, rather, it is a material attitude, on how we live about our day to day life with our fellow human beings. I become happy, from where others can inherit happiness. Be happy and make others happy.
