The overall scope of the conference is to focus on the critical role that the discipline of language testing and assessment plays in language education. How- ever, the main aim of the conference is to discuss current paradigms of testing and evaluation; to identify emerging trends in assessment procedures; to introduce new methods and techniques in language education and to create awareness about new modalities of teaching and learning, etc. This whole exercise is aimed at meeting the new challenges in area of Test- ing & Evaluation. The conference provides a platform to the young teachers and students to present their innovative approaches, software and tools with a fo- cus on real-life case studies, and works-in-progress reports, etc. before a wonderful group of audience and experts. Companies and organizations engaged in the development of software, tools, etc. for teaching and learning of Indian languages are welcomed to present their products.

Central Institute of Indian Languages (CIIL) was established on 17th July 1969, to co-ordinate the development of Indian Languages, to bring about the essential unity of Indian languages through scientific studies, promote interdisciplinary research, contribute to mutual enrichment of languages, and thus contribute towards emotional integration of people of India.

National Testing Service-India (NTS-I) was established by MHRD, Government of India in the year 2006 under the aegis of Centre for Testing and Evaluation, a functional unit of CIIL with an objective to undertake research and development activities in the areas of material production, methods and manpower in the field of language testing and evaluation. NTS-I focuses on teaching and testing of Indian Languages and it has been working on Hindi, Kannada, Urdu, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali and many other Indian Languages for more than a decade. So far more than 60 volumes of works in various languages have been published by NTS-I.

How to reach Mysuru and CIIL: CIIL is located in Manasagangothri, Hunsur Road opposite to BM Hospital (Around 4 KM from the Railway Station, 6 KM from Bus Station.). Mysore is well connected to Bengaluru city both via Rail and Road. Frequent trains and buses are available from Bengaluru to Mysuru. Those who wish to come via Air should reach Bengaluru Airport first. Mysuru witnesses Monsoon season from July to September and clear weather in October therefore offers pleasant temperature with frequent rain and sun.

The Institute will reimburse TA for Paper presenters i.e. 2 AC (Prof./Assoc. Prof.); 3 AC (Asst. Prof.) and 2nd Sleeper Class (Research Scholars & School Teachers) and DA for all including participants as per institute norms.

Kindly Note: Abstracts should be submitted in English (350 words, Times New Roman, 12 font). However, lim- ited no. of papers written in Hindi/Tamil/Urdu may also considered (standard fonts, 10 font).
