A Report

Literarians of all hues, gathered for an insightful and refreshing exploration of the humanities in our increasingly digital world on Thursday, 17th September 2026 at Holy Cross College (Autonomous), Trichy. The Programme was organised by the PG and Research Department of English at Holy Cross College (Autonomous) in Tiruchirappalli, and jointly organised with the Bodhi International Journal of Research in Humanities, Arts and Science.

The two-day international conference was aptly named Kaleidoscope: Fostering Holistic Excellence Across Literary, Linguistic, and Cultural Landscapes in the Age of AI.

The Conference (in hybrid mode) successfully bridged the gap between traditional literary studies and the rapid advancements of artificial intelligence, utilizing a hybrid model to bring together local scholars and international experts.

The morning inauguration began with a Welcome Address and Concept Note delivered by Dr. Mary Sandra Quintal, Associate Professor & Head of the PG & Research Department of English. The tone for the conference was firmly established by the Principal of Holy Cross College, Rev. Sr. Dr. Isabella Rajakumari, who delivered the Presidential and Inaugural Address. The opening session also featured a felicitation by Secretary Rev. Sr. Dr. Sarguna, a book release by Dr. S. Balakrishnan (Publisher & Managing Editor of Bodhi International Journal), and wrapped up with a Vote of Thanks by Ms. Joanna D'Vaz.

Moderated by Dean of Humanities Dr. Suganthi K, the morning keynote session brought fresh academic perspectives to the participants. Attendees heard from resource persons Dr. Samuel Rufus (Madras Christian College) and Dr. S. Boopathi (Periyar University), who anchored the discussion on how AI intersects with linguistic and cultural excellence.

A special word of appreciation to the organisers of the Conference, and the excellent hospitality provided by the staff of Holy Cross College. Right from the time we entered the venue, till we had our lively fellowship lunch in their staff room, they ensured that we were made to feel at home, in this prestigious institution.
