Completed the essay by Cardinal Newman, where he talks about the qualities of a gentleman (mcc-ian i mean)
Some of the beckoning and engaging qualities of a gentleman are:
He never inflicts pain.
He is seldom prominent in conversation.
He never speaks of himself except when compelled.
He has no ear for slander or gossip.
He is never mean.
He is patient, forbearing, and resigned.
He accounts for the mistakes of others.
He respects piety and devotion.
He is a friend of religious toleration.
And, well, these are part of a series of lectures given by Newman in Ireland, titled, "The Idea of a University"
Newman's thoughts still speak..!
