It was a red letter day in the annals of the Department of English, by all means. The third issue of Eclectic Representations was released with much fanfare by Mr.T.Radhakrishnan, Addl. Director General of Police, Chennai. In the same vein, Dr.S.Armstrong, Head, Department of English, University of Madras, released Cornucopia, a student publication, in the Anderson Hall today, at 11:30 am.
Mr.T.Radhakrishnan, who did his MA in English Literature, was a student of Dr.Francis Sounderraj. He has authored six books on literature to his credit. Speaking on the occasion, he said that his passion of literature is something that keeps him going even today. He was all praise for the research initiatives of the Department. The Principal was greatly appreciative of the

Dr.S.Armstrong, in his felicitations, stressed the importance of research publications in Colleges/Universities today. He also lauded the efforts of the Department in its commitment towards maintaining high academic standards in Eclectic Representations, the peer-reviewed biannual Journal.

Dr. S. Stephen Jebanesan emphasized the commitment of the Department to research activities. Dr. K. Ganesh spoke about the unique features of Eclectic Representations and Cornucopia to the gathering. Dr. Felix Moses was the cynosure of all eyes, and when Dr. Stephen Jebanesan acknowledged his contributions to the Department, the whole crowd erupted to rapturous ovation as a mark of acknowledging his tremendous contribution to the Department. Prof. Cherian Kurian and Dr. Manohar Samuel were also present on the occasion. Jisha, III BA proposed the Vote of Thanks. Dr. Mekala Rajan did the MC. Prof. Phebe was in-charge of the Reception Committee. Lisa Thomas and Manivannan were the photographers, and they did a splendid job. Bookmarks were distributed to all members of the audience, by the reception committee.
In short, the occasion will surely go into the annals of The English Association (TEA), as an event worth cherishing.
