Workshop on Heidegger in Chennai

Centre for Phenomenological Studies in association with Department of Philosophy, Loyola College, Chennai, organises a workshop on Heidegger's seminal work An Introduction to Metaphysics from Saturday, 10 December 2016 to Monday, 12 December 2016.

The workshop is open to all interested in the philosophy of Martin Heidegger, especially to students, research scholars ​and faculty of philosophy and allied disciplines​. While there will be facilitators to guide you through the workshop, the format of this event is very interactive to create a space for learning from one another and from the community of participants. The workshop will be led by Dr. V. C. Thomas, Centre for Phenomenological Studies, Puducherry.

REGISTRATION

Participants are requested to register online before 1st December 2016, by paying Rs.1600/- (Rupees one thousand and six hundred only). The registration fee covers the cost of photocopied study material, food and accommodation for the three days of the workshop. For day scholars,​ ​the registration fee ​will be Rs. 800/- (Rupees eight hundred only) which includes lunch.

Payments can be made directly to the bank account (AC. No. 35722340981 / IFSC code: SBIN0010507) of Centre for Phenomenological Studies, State Bank of India, Lawspet Branch, Puducherry-605008 or by means of a Demand Draft drawn in favour of ‘Centre for Phenomenological Studies’, payable at Puducherry from any bank. Participants have to make their own arrangements for travel and no travel grants will be provided.

 CALL FOR PAPERS

Limited number of participants will have an opportunity to present papers in the workshop on the Philosophy of Martin Heidegger. Scholars who wish to present papers need to submit the abstract of the paper (250 words) by 1st December 2016. Please send the abstract by email to: ashishantony@yahoo.com

The workshop committee will review the abstract and the invitation to present the paper is conditional to the acceptance of the abstract. Adhering to the time schedule is recommended to ensure your participation in the workshop.
