In the 1996 Summer Olympics, inaugurated by the President of the USA, Bill Clinton, [19 July – 04 August 1996], Leander Paes' bronze in the men's tennis event was the only medal won by India.
As regards Hockey, the Indian Hockey contingent at the Atlanta Olympics back then, included the famous Dhanraj Pillay!
The India men's national field hockey team won today’s match against Spain – 3 – 1.
League Matches
India lost to Argentina 0-1.
India drew with Germany 1-1.
India beat USA 4-0 (Dhanraj Pillay 2).
India drew with Pakistan 0-0.
India beat Spain 3-1 (today’s show)
