“Hamas-Israeli Conflict & Its Connect with Artificial Intelligence”
M. K. Narayanan 90 years old, formerly IPS Officer, National Security Adviser, and Governor, West Bengal, is a featured writer with The Hindu for long.
Interestingly, he is also an alumnus of Madras Christian College Higher Secondary School.
His articles are highly thought-provoking and give the readers—especially UPSC Aspirants—profound insights on the current socio-economic scenario, polity, cyber security and governance.
This editorial piece is highly informative, especially in the present geo-political context, presenting a shocking statement on the Abuse of Artificial Intelligence.
M.K.N quoting sources, says that, Israel’s massive intelligence failure that resulted in the current Hamas-Israeli conflict is because of their overindulgence on Artificial Intelligence, which was skillfully exploited by Hamas.
It seems Hamas successfully distorted the flow of information flowing into Israeli AI Systems and thus was able to blindside Israeli Intelligence and the Israeli High Command.
The final line is the icing on the cake though!
MKN says –
The lesson to be learnt, is that, an over-dependence on AI and a belief in its invincibility could prove to be as catastrophic as ‘locking the gates after the horse has bolted’.
Now, over to the Editorial piece -
